Want something more traditional than the gifts those I propose in my vlog Gifts for the Woman Who Wants Nothing? Something you can buy, wrap, and put under the tree? Below is a collection of items that are particularly comfortable, fun, useful, and well-priced!
Let me know what things you have found for your beloved hard-to-shop-for women!
Fleece Loungewear PJ Set
If you're looking for pure comfort and something your loved one could lounge in all day, look no further than these cute, comfy fleece PJ sets. Sizes XS to 2XL, in five color/pattern choices.
Silk Pajamas
For a sleeker—but still comfortable—feel, try these light weight statin PJs. They come in sizes XS to 3XL and in your choice of eight pretty colors.
Cozy Memory Foam Slippers
If your favorite woman is plagued by freezing cold feet all winter (and much of the rest of the year, too), nothing beats a pair of soft cozy slippers. You can get away with wearing these in public (don't ask me how I know this), however not in rain or snow (don't ask me how I know that, either).
Popcorn Seasoning Set
I'm a popcorn lover. As in a freaking-eat-the-entire-tub popcorn lover. But my midlife makeover eating plan doesn't allow for many such indulgences. (Gluten free, if that's her deal.) If you have a health conscious (or not) popcorn lover in your life, look at this tasty dozen of popcorn toppers.
The set includes:
- Bacon Cheddar
- Kettle Corn
- Nacho Cheddar
- Ranch
- Cheesy Caramel Corn
- Garlic Parmesan
- White Cheddar
- Caramel Corn
- Butter (2)
- Cheesy Jalapeño
- Popcorn Salt (zesty buttermilk salt blend)
Sports Gym Bag
Is your favorite woman a gym rat, HIIT queen, or even a weekend warrior? If so, look at this über functional gym bag! Comest in nine colors and has all the features you could want. (Yes, this is on my Christmas list this year!)
- Breathable shoe compartment
- Inside phone pocket
- Two easy-access outside pockets
- Attached key chain
- Reinforced stitches
- Shoulder strap with removable buckle
- Attachable hand straps
- Wet pocket
- Two large drink container holders
- Heavy duty two-way zipper
- Water-proof tear resistance nylon fabric
Wax Cube Warmer
I love making my home smell really good. For years I tried scented candles but the wicks would always burn out or disappear, leaving a huge container of unused wax wasted. (Also, one of my daughter ruined a wood table from the heat…so there's also the damage and danger element of an open flame.) My solution for years now has been to purchase a few wax cube warmers for various places in my home and plop an inexpensive little scented cube in each.
There are counter top warmers and those that plug directly into an outlet. Some are decorative and others unobtrusive. Many possibilities, but I really love having these around my house.
Cable Cuff Bangle
I love jewelry and the stacked bracelet look is so fun. This cuff is simple and adjustable. I like the dual silver and gold coloring so can pair easily with any other jewelry.
RFID Blocking Travel Passport Wallet
Is travel and adventure in the future? This wallet was designed specifically for the frequent flier in your life! Forget function for a second, it comes in 30 different colors. (I'm kind of all about color.) But there's more! Your favorite traveler can fit all this in her new, sleek, colorful wallet:
- Passport
- Boarding pass
- ID
- 3 credit cards
- Sim card
- Coupon ticket
- Cellphone
- Cash and coins
- Keys
- Pen
WARMEN Touchscreen Leather Gloves
I'm not a high fashion (or high maintenance) gal, but I just love these gloves. Accessories are such an easy way to add some style without worrying too much about size and style. Get two: one neutral and one a color pop. (Sadly, though, as of this writing they only come in 11 colors, not all the glorious ones in the image. (I love the orange, yellow, and fuchsia…))
These gloves are kappa leather with cashmere and wool blend lining. Sleek and warm and cute!
Magnifying Mirror
So…I'm blind. Not legally blind. And even when I finally broke down and went to the eye doctor last summer—certain that I'd either need full-time glasses/contacts or an arm extension surgery—surprising I only needed reading glasses. (Because of my extensive computer work, I opted for close/midrange bifocals for reading/screen, and don't wear glasses the rest of the time.) But when I try to put on makeup, it's an enormous challenge. Because…I can't see what I'm doing and I'm just going on decades of experience.
Not a good plan, in case you are wondering.
My solution is this lovely and amazing lighted magnifying mirror. I can see what I'm doing! It works perfectly. (If you haven't used one before, be prepared—very prepared—for the shock of seeing every pore of your skin up close and personal.)
Magnifying Travel Mirror
Having solved the above problem, it's easy to become complacent and forget your lack of clear vision. Until you're in a hotel trying to apply mascara from two feet away. The big blur in the mirror gives you no feedback.
This compact travel makeup mirror has a 10x mirror and a 1x mirror (aka the never to be used mirror), LED light, and a folding case that allows it to stand freely. I legitimately just ordered this for myself because a couple of weeks ago I, once again, found myself in this ridiculous predicament and I don't plan to have it happen ever again. As soon as this arrives, it's going in my always-packed cosmetic case straight away.
Eyeglass Retainer Chains
Given the aforementioned midlife farsightedness issues—and that I have chosen to wear special purpose bifocals—I constantly face the problem of not having the glasses that I need when I need them. I have often had to ask my children (or complete strangers) to read a label to me at the store. I have even been known to go to the pharmacy and carry around a pair of 2.5x readers (attached to it's accompanying description card) around the store while I shop so I can see what I'm putting in my cart.
When trying to be more responsible I have put the temple bar of my glasses into the front of my shirt to carry them around. They have fallen so many times I cannot count.
Today I decided to give in and buy an eyeglass leash (or retainer) to keep them around my neck. I'm just so afraid I'm going to end up looking like sweet, old Mrs. Tucker, the Westmore Elementary secretary. But I give up! I found a couple of styles I'm going to try: a set of six chain retainers and four leather lanyards for more casual situations.
Tell me if you think these look super dorky! Sometimes practicality wins.
Bath Bombs
I'm not a super froofy girl, but I love lotions and sprays and bubbles that smell yummy. Bath bombs and just one of those fun, fragrant indulgences that I can always go for.
This fizzy doesn't has essential oils, including lavender, frankincense, rosemary, orange, peppermint, and other sweet scents.
Global Win Snow Boots
Practicality wrapped up in warmth and fun!
If your significant other is more into the mundane, these boots do come in plain old browns and blacks. But if she wants a little adventure on her feet, check out the animal prints and plaids! They will perk up any gloomy winter day!
Windproof Inverted Umbrella
Everyone needs an umbrella. Why not get one that's cool, colorful, and compact. (So much alliteration!) These are so stylish, I'd get another one just for fun. Or two. Also the bright orange.
This has a super smart design, with a functional handle and an ingenious design to boot. (Get it?) But just look at the styles! So cute!
High Waisted Leggings
Even if you're not model thin, leggings are the best thing in the winter! You can dress them up or down—and layer them—to fit your style and figure.
These leggings are soft, opaque, and come in 43 luscious colors (size range from 0-5x). They're a bargain and have thousands of positive ratings! Did I mention forty-three colors?!! I'm going to cry.
DNA Test Kit
You already know how a simple DNA test blew my life up! If the woman on your gift list is ready to find out some crazy shiz—and if she dares—send her one of these kits. even if she's not adopted like I am, she'll probably find out some really interesting things (and you will, too)! For example, is she likely to develop a unibrow (no for me!) or suffer from misophonia (yes, and I do).
We purchased both the Ancestry and the 23 and Me DNA test kits. It was the latter that gave me the more detailed information.
Climate Comfort for Beds — Cooling and Heating
As a lifelong insomniac (wait for the vlog on that!), sleeping comfort is always a struggle. I saw the informercial for this BedJet climate control and was so intrigued. Doesn't it sound divine?
I don't have this yet. But I asked for it for Christmas. I promise to do a full, honest review. But it sounds so perfect, I'm totally willing to try it out.
Save Those Receipts!
If you're purchasing from Amazon for Christmas, you have extra return times! If you purchase between November 1st and December 31st, you will have until January 31st to process returns.
